The “out of target” function (also known as screen out) stops the interview for the contacts that are not relevant to your survey. It is often used in the screening questions at the beginning of the questionnaire to know if the respondent is part of the target of your survey.
To activate this function click on the gearwheel button of the answer option that determines the target and enable the option “Out of target”.
When selecting this specific answer the respondent will immediately quit the interview and a specific text will be displayed.
- You can customize the “Out of quota/target” text from the CAWI settings.
- Out of target interviews are will be labeled in the export file.
- The solution explained in this article allows to set the out of target based on the selection of a certain response. It is possible to set out of target with any kind of condition, even referring to multiple questions or contact fields. See the article “Out of Target with FlowScript” for more details.
With my survey I only want to reach respondents that are between 18 and 24 years old.
Only selecting the option “18-39” the respondents will proceed with the survey, all the others options will stop the interview.
